Classic powerlifting ranks (EVSK 2026)
Standards for the classic (raw) total — no supportive gear, the sum of squat, bench and deadlift at a meet. A weight class is the upper bodyweight limit: “up to 83 kg” means 74.01–83 kg.

Levels are not an official scale but a guide: bodyweight multipliers based on public strength standard tables (Strength Level, ExRx) with a smooth bodyweight adjustment; kg, rounded to 2.5.
How to read the standards tables
EVSK ranks depend on your weight class, not your exact bodyweight. Men's classes are 59, 66, 74, 83, 93, 105, 120 and 120+ kg; women's are 47, 52, 57, 63, 69, 76, 84 and 84+ kg. The number in a rank column is the minimum total you need at a meet. The men's 53 kg and women's 43 kg classes are open to sub-juniors and juniors (up to 23) only.
Age matters too: MSMK is awarded from 17, MS from 16, KMS from 14, adult and junior classes from 12. The 1st class must be met at a regional-level meet or higher, 2nd–3rd and junior classes at any official meet; KMS, MS and MSMK require meets from the national calendar, referees of the right category and, for MS, doping control.
For example, a man in the up-to-83 kg class needs a 515 kg total for KMS and 665 kg for MS; a woman up to 63 kg needs 315 and 365 kg.
Strength levels vs. ranks
A rank is an official sports qualification. In Russia it is awarded under the EVSK (Unified All-Russian Sports Classification), only for a result at an official meet with referees, under federation rules and in your weight class. The standards are fixed for each class and are revised every few years by a Ministry of Sport order.
A strength level is an unofficial guide for people who train for themselves. It shows how your max compares with other lifters of the same sex and bodyweight — from a beginner in their first weeks to elite. You don't need a meet for it: an honest max or a rep set is enough.
Classic vs. equipped powerlifting
The EVSK has separate equipped events (squat suits, bench shirts) and classic ones without gear. Classic lifting allows a belt, wrist wraps and knee sleeves, but not knee wraps or supportive suits. This page shows the classic standards — the events most recreational lifters compete in; equipped standards are higher.
There are no separate EVSK ranks for the squat or deadlift: in “total” events the standard is met only by the sum of all three lifts. A single-lift rank exists only for the bench press.
How to reach the next level
- Beginners and novices do fine on linear progression: 3 sessions a week, 3 sets of 5, add 2.5 kg to the bar every session as long as the sets stay clean.
- At the intermediate level you can no longer add weight every session — move to weekly or undulating periodisation: most work at 70–85% of 1RM, heavy singles and doubles every few weeks.
- Advanced lifters need a block plan built around a meet: accumulate volume, then intensity, then taper with a deload 1–2 weeks out.
- Every 4–6 weeks re-estimate your 1RM from a fresh set and shift your working weights. Log every session — without notes it's easy to overrate progress or miss a plateau.
What next
Numbers are useful once they are part of a program. Pick a training plan, check your form on the main lifts and recalculate your one-rep max from a fresh set.

FAQ
How do I find out what rank my lifts are?
Enter your sex, bodyweight and result. For the bench press the calculator compares it with the classic bench standards, for the total — with the classic total standards for your weight class. Officially a rank is awarded only for a meet result.
Are there ranks for the squat and deadlift alone?
No. The EVSK for powerlifting covers the total (squat + bench + deadlift) and the bench press. The squat and deadlift are rated by strength level, and your rank comes from the total.
Which document sets these standards?
Russian Ministry of Sport order No. 299 of 9 April 2026 approving the Unified All-Russian Sports Classification (appendix 48, powerlifting). It replaced the 2022–2025 classification.
Why are the standards different in another federation?
EVSK ranks are state qualifications based on meets of the powerlifting federation recognised by the Russian Ministry of Sport. Other federations have their own rules, divisions and standards tables, and their titles are not EVSK ranks.
Do I need to test my max to get my level?
No. Choose “Estimate from a set” and enter the weight and reps from a recent session — the calculator estimates your 1RM with standard formulas. That's safer and accurate enough for a strength level.
How do I know my weight class?
A weight class is the upper bodyweight limit at weigh-in. At 80 kg you are in the up-to-83 kg class, at 84 kg — up to 93 kg. The calculator picks the class from your bodyweight.
