Cutting and Definition Workout Programs
Cutting programs help you keep muscle and strength while you lower your body fat. Compared with mass programs they use more reps (12–15), short rests, supersets and circuits, so each session is denser and burns more energy.
How to choose
- Gym, for men and women — the gym cutting program with supersets: 3 full-body workouts, exercises in pairs with no rest.
- Gym, 4 days, classic split — the Gym Cutting Program for Men.
- Home with dumbbells — Dumbbell Circuit Training.
- Home with no equipment — the No-Equipment Home Circuit.
How often to train
3–4 strength sessions. On rest days, easy activity — walking, cycling, swimming — adds energy expenditure without hurting recovery.
How to progress
Even while cutting, try not to lose your working weights: add reps up to the top of the range, then increase the weight slightly. If your strength drops noticeably on a calorie deficit, keep the weight and cut a set, but keep training. Definition shows when body fat goes down, so results come from training, a moderate calorie deficit and sleep together.

Frequently asked questions
Can I burn fat with training alone?
Training raises energy expenditure and preserves muscle, but fat goes on a calorie deficit. Without adjusting your diet, definition comes slowly.
What is a superset?
Two exercises back to back with no rest between them; you rest only after the pair. It makes the workout shorter and more intense.
Do I need cardio while cutting?
Not necessarily, but 20–30 minutes of easy cardio after lifting or on rest days helps increase energy expenditure.
Is the program suitable for women?
Yes, the gym cutting program with supersets is universal — just choose weights that suit you.
